Well known as the lead vocalist of the 90’s R&B trio, 702, Meelah Williams was also a Season 3 cast member of R&B Divas Atlanta and is now on a mission to bring awareness to autism and developmental delays through her foundation P.R.O.U.D (Parents Reaching Out to Understand Developmental Delays) . Meelah stopped by Seen from the INside studio and spoke candidly about the traumatic birth of her only child, finding out about his autism diagnosis and focusing on her solo singing career. Meelah was born and brought up in Las Vegas and graduated from Las Vegas School of Performing Artists. After school, Michael Bivins of New Edition and Bel Biv Devoe hand-selected Meelah for 702 and introduced the trio to the music world. When we chatted about the current music scene, she admits to be “an old-head and listening to old school especially riding in the car with her son.” She talks about her being “bullied for being a dark-skinned girl” and overcoming that was empowering.
