Seen from the INside welcomes prominent entertainment attorney, James L. Walker in the studio. He has worked with clients such as Shirley Caesar, DMX, Jamie Foxx and many more but he chats more importantly about the value in giving back especially to empower today’s youth. James hails from Norfolk, VA but spent a lot of time back and forth between Bridgeport, Connecticut and VA but after graduating from Howard University and Howard Law School, he established roots in Connecticut. After setting up a law office, James helped build a halfway house called Joshua House saying, “It’s important to help out the community especially as Bridgeport [CT] was hit hard after industries left town and high school classmates fell into drugs and other bad activities. If I had the opportunity to help, it was my duty to do so.” James’s motivation to help was instilled by his mother and seven uncles who “served as substitute fathers” and “understanding hard work ethic by hoisting windows and laborious carpentry work with [his] uncles in the summer.” James moved to Atlanta in 2011 and now has two law offices in the city. James has served on the Marquis Grissom Baseball Association board, BronzeLens Film Festival and other nonprofit boards. “There’s still so much work to do,” is a big motivator for James to continue using his platform to create social good.
