Ed Roland, lead singer of the multi-platinum band Collective Soul, was in studio singing and chatting about writing music and stresses importance of giving back to community. Roland is a preacher’s son who grew up in Stockbridge, GA and talks about how his church upbringing reverberates in his songwriting. His musical career has spanned 20+ years including 7 number one Billboard hits, nine studio albums and a solo album. Not one to slow down, Ed also leads a side band called Ed Roland & The Sweet Tea Project which does many charity shows around Atlanta and the country. He brought his guitar into Seen from the INside studios and sang the hit song, “Shine” as well as a Sweet Tea Project song called “Used to Be”. Ed mentioned that he and the band are working on their 10th studio album to be released in 2017.
